Our Weekend

My hubby and I are spending the weekend together.  Just the two of us.  :)  Tonight we are taking a raincheck with our neighbors and our weekly dinner.  We are staying in and making eggplant parmesan, drinking wine, and planting our cilantro and lettuce.  :))))  Tomorrow we are going for a walk.  Either on the beach or the park; we haven’t decided yet.  

I am excited to have this weekend to us.

Grand Theft Auto

Yay.  We can now check that off of the to-do list, the bucket list, the FUCK IT ALL LIST. 

His gear was stolen out of his car.  IT IS WORTH A LOT.  A LOT A LOT.  With all of the cut backs, they are not giving out little punishments or even big punishments.  The military is giving out harsh punishments.  The last guy who had this happen to him…he was demoted AND lost pay.  

I could go on and tell you about what his command did to the poor guy last week, who texted the wrong person, but I will not.

If we cannot get his gear back, or pay for it, he will be demoted.  He will no longer be number 1.  He will no longer be the golden child.  He will lose almost all of it.  He will be screwed.  There will not be a choice whether we get to stay in or not.  We will be forced out.  

I am not being dramatic.  I am simply telling you how dire it is as a military family right now.  Our current elected officials have FUCKED IT UP SO MUCH that ONE SINGLE THEFT THAT ISNT EVEN OUR FAULT, can result in a loss of pay and a FREAKING CAREER.

FUCK YOU OBAMA.  FUCK YOU CONGRESS.  Yes, both Democratic and Republican.  

Maybe before you put into measures that cut into the lives of a special needs teacher and an enlisted Marine - both willing to do things YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO…maybe YOU should take a pay check.  Ever think of that?  How about Obama give up a year of retirement???  Giving up 5 would save the cuts your Congress want to give to the National Parks.  And dear beloved officials that supposedly represent how I feel…try doing what my family does.  Small business owners that serve our country as well.  Give up ONE MONTH or a SINGLE WEEK’S worth of pay to help others.

I am so pissed off that you have cut the budget so much in our military, that the theft of a jacket can result in a young man losing his career.

So congratulations, I guess you have succeeded in living the American Dream.  But I ask you, at what expense have you lived your dream?

Savings!

We each have an IRA!  ANDDDDDD we have a max of $5000 for the prior year, which we started in November.  I have put $4200 into mine!!!  Nathan has put $3500 into his!!!  We are getting paid soon and getting our tax refund.  :)  We are getting our savings into order!  Come April, we can start to save for a house.  And our emergency fund.  

We are going to be okay.  :)
